Not only are they not learning civics, much of what they are taught is inaccurate or wrong.

I'm a child and my teacher barely hints anything about civics. I don't even know that it is.

Have you read the paper? Our children are not learning enough about anything today? Our educational system is a shame and most of our children won't be able to compete in a global economy when they grow up. Many grownups don't know civics and the political process, how could you expect a child to learn what the teacher doesn't know?

If you want to blame someone instead of addressing the real issue ask yourself "What have I done to enhance the learning of the children in my environment?" Did you teach a good lesson? Did you set a good example? Did you vote to increase taxes for education and benefits for educators? We are all teachers and we are all reponsible for the fate of all children.

Not from the Republican Party. They base their campaigns on decreasing voter turnout. They run and hide from debate. They run ads that are completely dishonorable.

What could a child learn from John McCain? Not much that is good.

Wreck your plane and get captured. If you survive you can dump your first wife and marry an heiress blond bimbo and get people to vote for you even while you treat people like crap.

The liberal teachers union is keeping teachers from teaching what they should be.People with stupid thinking like yours have corrupted the learning process. BOTH sides of the issues should ALWAYS be presented with respect and intelligent facts. There is good and bad in everything.

Since when is there automatically only "both sides" to an issue? Although, I don't agree that the person you were replying to was aptly addressing the subject.

Don't forget about being freinds with known terrorist (William Ayers) or sitting under a racist fool of a preacher for 20 years and being too stupid to know what was being preached.
Don't forget either about how patriotic it is to travel around the world and trash your own country. Let's also not forget the enormous qualifications a ghetto community disorganizer brings to the table.

I think that they should be required to take at least one basic economics class as well.

Hit the wrong choice. Meant to say I don't think so. I know teen age kids that don't know what the Gettysburg Address is. They don't know what the Constitution is. They don't know what an amendment is. I could go on and on. The only presidents they know are the current one and the last one. They know Lincoln's name but that's all.

I don't think that the average kid is as much of a moron as those who stand out in this fashion.

I read a while back that something like 50 per cent of high school (seniors?) couldn't locate the United States on a globe. I simply refuse to believe that is is true, because if so, our entire society is a MASSIVE failure.

I don't see why children would need to learn about a particular model of Honda
