Oh Wow, they've started whining, already!
Complain, complain, complain!

That's okay, because the rest of us are happy - no time to listen to the crybabies.

2 More Days - well, less than 2 days, YIPEE!

let me take a stab at this one. In two days the United States is inaugurating Barack Obama as our new President. George Bush will no longer be President. Better policies for a better future. Do you not own a television and/or don't you read newspapers?

Do you not own a television and/or don't you read newspapers? We are waiting for some competence to return to the PPL's house.

It is God's will that Obama is our new leader. Praise God for his wisdom in guiding America's hand on November 4th! Things will get better now! They won't be perfect,, but things in America will get better, now that Bush is leaving office and Obama is taking charge of our government. I give thanks to God for making this day arrive.

Greatlakes....BINGO!!!!!!!!!!

It is so hypocritical to have these people come out on this day. I wonder what they did for Earth Day last year?? Thanksgiving, etc??
Me..I was at the beach with my dog picking up trash and handing out trashbags and inspiring other beach goers to make sure they pick up THEIR trash and other the see around (as I most weekends). Thanksgiving...Soup kitchen at my church during the day as I do every year. Christmas...Toys For Tots and volunteered at a local school for some kids to do artwork for their parents. Supported friends that were collecting for Breastcancer, Multiple Sclorosis, Hispanic American orphans, Wifes of Soldiers...oh..>Christmas I also donated to send soldiers phone cards, did the Susan B Komen and Revlon walks (as I do yearly) and have organized a way to get spa product sample care packages to women fighting in Iraq, donated to and supported the Ron Paul R3volution ....among MANY other things.

I don't owe anyone an explanation, but I am proud of what I do for others because I understand how blessed I am to have what I have and have had the wonderful life (not monetarily) that I have always had.

Oh....one other thing SillyBilly...I forgot to tell you that part of what we are organizing is for my whole staff and some of the clients we have to go out to an senior center here and do pedicures for them with a new pedicure line we picked up. So yes, I am actually doing charity work while I am here.

However...I work my ass off and refuse to feel guilty for pampering myself...whether that is sipping margaritas poolside, getting a massage or buying myself something nice. I deserve it.

Wow, nothing but negative trash on here, especially from that prognosticator (Premenstrual) MsticalPrincess. Well, princess, I took the day off of work so I could work in the local food bank. I'm bringing a (flatbed) truckload of food with me, donated by my friends at a tow truck company. Your negative bullshit is petty and reflects poorly on your attitude and outlook. Sucks to be you.

Poison..no hun...it isn't negative...it is realistic. Ok...so you take the day off....you get a freaking star on your forehead and a pat on your back. But why don't you do this on a regular basis??? Why does the president even have to ASK anyone to do these kinds of things??? Oh wait...so he can "seem" like he is doing for us.

BARF. Give me a break dude.

Call me when you TRULY know what community service and giving is...k?

He's not calling for mandatory community service dipsh*t, but voluntary community service, something even Ron Paul supports. Might do you some good to get into a soup kitchen and off the computer sheesh. Voluntarily, of course.

But you also assume that by saying I "GIVE" it only means monetarily. So again....send me your "volunteer and charity agenda" for this year and past years and we will see who can sleep better at night. Deal??

I have a LOOOOONG LOOONG history of volunteering and donating. I didn't need a ridiculous plea from a president begging me to do the right thing. I learned that AT HOME by EXAMPLE! Thus....something natural and innate in me.

Poison, You should know by now that PMS is the Buzzdash teenie bopper who "wink winks", does her *eyerolls* and LOL at everything and tries to come on as some expert.
She doesn't deserve a response or explanation because she is brain dead and doesn't process data well. Just consider the source!
Lots of us are going to be doing things that we do not just tomorrow but throughout the year - but I don't feel like I need to explain anything to her.
That is a good thing you are doing.

There will be massive turnouts across the country, weather permitting. There are dozens of goups here in Georgia doing all kinds of things, from feeding the homeless, to feeding pets of the elderly during the meal on wheels delivery. I doubt any republiNUTS will be doing anything, they are to busy whinning and crying cause they got their butt's kicked in the election. Thats ok, we don't need them!!!!

You say that you contribute to charity , that's nice.

I'm sure the people you help appreciate it...

But you're in Cabo , aren't you ? Are you there to perhaps hand out charity checks ,or are you there handing out tips for the bartender that brings you those drinks by the poolside?

You could be here , you know , handing out warm coats to kids that don't have one, or maybe helping a family in need of fuel oil to stay warm....

Now, before you tell me what good your money does , just tell me what good you actually do ?

You have some severe sour grapes because Obama won , so you jet off to a island paradise, just so you can thumb your nose at the rest of us...

I don't know where that fits on your chart , and to be fair to you , I don't know anything about you , but you seem at times a good person , and at others , you seem like a spoiled rich brat. I just can't figure you out..

Princess--you're in Cabo??? I'm jealous! Haven't been out there for quite a while. I think the people here, especially the kids, could take a lesson from the mexican people. Obama the poor schmuck has to call for people here to get their lazy asses off the couch. So pathetic. How bout those kids--are you by the harbor/Plaza Las Glorias? Where all those little ones jump to their feet and work all day when the fisherman come in? They make their own toys and fishing poles out of scraps---they don't need the shiniest bling to be happy....I'm with you, WTF about MLK day..this is truly embarrassing.

HillBilly...I do. I come from a family where they were hardasses about personal responsibility. We didn't manipulate our parents (ok..we tried...but they didn't buy it) and we were always taught good working ethics. My grandfather came from a VERY poor family where he was the oldest of 9 children and his father died when he was 14. He had to go work at that time and help his mother support the family. I can't remember a time where he didn't have more than 5 jobs (not all full time but one full time and did other odd jobs like writing for magazines or coaching kids on the weekends, etc). And even once he became successful...he always helped his younger brothers and sisters, he was extremely generous to his staff and never stopped working more than 3-4 "jobs". He was also a dedicated family man and one of extraordinary values. In fact...the company my brother, sister in law and I started is named after him because we swore we would always uphold his ethical values as example. My father, as well, is an ethical honest and hard working man. And my mother...omg...I don't understand where she gets the energy she does to be a SUPER woman...being an incredible wife, mother, business woman, mentor, philanthropist, etc etc etc. I always say I want to be like her when I grow up. I am an extremely lucky girl as I am surrounded and have been all my life, by hard working, ethical people that have taught me to fend for myself and they will always support me in anything I do.

So you see...I am not a selfish little bitch like you think I am...I have MANY good things about me...but I have low tolerance and get very frustrated with people that support a system that enables people into mediocracy.

........MsticalPrincess : ) hello

It's 4:am, here in WNC.... it's late , I don't feel well ( that's why I'm up this late ) , but I was fixing to turn in... But I felt your post needed a reply before I turned in...

Sounds like you come from good stock.
( That's a hillbilly term for good genetics & upbringing )

My Grand Father raised tobacco from a rocky side hill farm & a huge garden & hogs & cattle to feed his family, and never asked nothing from nobody that he couldn't either make or trade for....My own Father had to hire someone to work in his place on the tobacco patch so that he & my Mom could get married.... Haw Haw.... My Dad walked or hitchhiked some 30 miles so he could attend College , but not many would help out a hillbilly , so folks would stop & offer him a ride , and then speed off , and laugh at my Dad... It didn't stop him though , he got that engineering degree , and to see that man work a old timey slide rule was a pure feat of magic....He would take a crew of some 20 men out for dinner , and the standing bet was that he would accurately compute in his head, without the use of a calculator , what the total cost of their meals would be , plus tax , and that if he was wrong , he would buy dinner for everyone , but if he was right , they all bought his dinner... He ate free , the vast majority of the time...

I'm probably boring you with all this , so I'll quit.

Hillbilly....sounds like he left you a legacy of honoring hard work and reaping the rewards must have been very rewarding.

I am TRULY surprised you don't support Dr Ron Paul. That is EXACTLY what he stands for. I don't know if your dad would have had the same success if a welfare check would have just come to your house every month.

There is a quote from the book..."Rich Dad, Poor Dad" that I love. He says his poor dad use to tell him and the kids..."I can't afford this because I have you kids"...and his rich dad would say..."I *HAVE* to afford this because I have you kids"

Frame of mind is everything. When we had people things...mediocracy sets in.

One of the simplest lines we ALL know...)sorry flounder...lol)

"Give a man a fish, you will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you will feed him for a lifetime".
